QUICK USE:

1st Step

Use the Start Menu's shortcut to Tray Folder to get Tray Folder started. The shortcut is located in the Start Menus Programs list in a shortcut group named Tray Folder.

Use IconControl to enable the tray icon. The IconControl executive file is located in your launcher tray folder and looks like a stop sign. In the tray icons right-click menu, click on Launcher and your launcher tray folder will open. IconControl is very easy to use. Click "Enable" and the tray icon will be enabled. When the tray icon is enabled a Cycling entry will be available in the right-click menu.

Cycling Folder = secure tray folder

Once you have enabled the tray icon, right-click on the tray icon, and click on Cycling and the Cycling menu will appear. Click Open and you are asked for your password.

At the login screen, enter the word "change" without quotation marks. The login screen will then ask you for your current password. You do not have one at this point so leave it blank and click the "Change" button. The next window will ask you for the new password. Enter your new password and click the save button. It is suggested that a short and simple password be used to start out with -your age or initials perhaps. At this point you have a password and can click on Open in the Cycling menu, enter your password, and open the "Cycling Folder". The "Cycling Folder" is your secure tray folder. It is called the "Cycling Folder" because you will be able to cycle the protection of your Secure Tray Folder between a secured mode and an unsecured mode rather easily.

Once you are through inspecting the contents of the Cycling Folder, close it. Once the Cycling Folder has been closed right-click on the tray icon and click on "Cycling" to open the Cycling menu. Click on Protect and your Cycling Folder files will be protected. On the tray icons right-click menu, click on "Disable" and the tray icons right-click menu will lose the "Cycling", and "Disable" entries. Use "Icon Control" to enable the tray icon whenever you need these options. Do not let anyone else have access to the Icon Control executive and they will not have access to the tray icons right-click features that have to do with your Cycling Folder.

"Open"... Login and open your Cycling Folder
"Protect"... Put the Cycling Folder's files in the protected mode.
"Disable"... Removes Cycling Folder features from the tray icon's right-click menu

The Cycling Folder is located in the Documents folder under your profile. In its protected mode the Cycling Folder is hidden in/behind a Recycle folder which appears to be a regular Recycle Bin type folder. The Cycling Folders files are encoded to a file named Cycling which is created in the AppData folder located under your profile.

The AppData folder under your profile is most likely a hidden folder. Use the two settings below to control the visibility of the hidden and SuperHidden files and folders. SuperHidden is the term that Microsoft has coined to refer to files and folders that have been hidden as protected operating system files.

SuperHidden = protected operating system files and folders

EXPERIMENT WITH THE "RECYCLER" FOR A MINUTE OR TWO. There is more information about these features below. The Recycler is not just a basic Recycle Bin.

There is a shortcut to your Launcher tray folder placed in your "SendTo" folder under your profile. Right-click a file, or folder, and select "My Launcher Tray Folder" in the "Send To" listings and a copy of the article will be placed in your Launcher.

2nd step

There is a "Tray Folder" shortcut group created in your Start Menus Programs list. If you do not want other users to have access Tray Folders shortcut group, enable the tray icon using "Icon Control" and open the "Tools" feature. From the tools select "View Settings" and experiment with the "Hide Tray Folder in the Start Menu" option. It is the forth one down under Hide folders as system files. Once you have the Tray Folder shortcut group hidden, use the "Shortcut key" (sometimes called a "hotkey"), to start Tray Folder.

The Shortcut key is:
Ctrl + Alt + T

This shortcut key can be changed by right-clicking on the Tray Folder shortcut, opening the shortcut's properties, and making the desired change in the "Shortcut key:" textbox. If a particular shortcut key has already been assigned on your computer it will most likely not function properly. If you find this to be the case, simply assign a different shortcut key for the shortcut in the shortcut's properties.

There is also a "Run" command that will start Tray Folder. You will have to log in so the password will need to be created first.
The Run Command is:

tf2

The Run command can be used in the Start Menu's "Run" feature to start Tray Folder. It can also be used with the "Command Prompt" to start Tray Folder.

There is a shortcut to this "Quick Use Readme" created in the Start Menu's Programs list the first time the Tray Folder program is run. This shortcut is removed automatically the first time the secure tray folder is opened.
